Adding an interior door

The upstairs is a "cat-free zone." We thought having a door would make it much easier to accomplish that.

Adding a door was complicated by the very narrow and tall opening in front of the stairs. This door was originally eight feet tall and unfinished. We cut a few inches off the bottom to make it fit and stained it to match the room's base trim.
