Number your trim

A tip: When you remove all the trim from a room, pick an obvious starting place (i.e. the right side of the main entrance to the room) and assign a number to each piece of trim as you work your way around the room. Write the number on the back of the trim with a Sharpie. When it comes time to reinstall the trim, you will have a much easier time finding the pieces. In our house, each bedroom had 11 pieces of trim (including the closet). It's easy to get the pieces mixed up.
